My first winter back in Australia after 20 years, glad to see the back of it. Winter is a season you seem to remember more fondly than it deserves to be.
With Spring coming back I am hoping for some more pot trolley sales, we did quite a bit of sales until I had run out of the wheels last year from Spring through summer. I have also been thinking about a larger pot trolley for a while as I had bought a VegePod for my house as the bugs were eating all my vegetables but I couldn’t grow a tomato bush in it as they get too tall. So on the VegePod site they also make this thing called a VegeBag and I thought it would be a great idea but in summer you will need to move them around and being full they would weigh quite a bit. I had put this thought away as a “later” project but I had a customer ask for pretty much the same thing which was the omen I was looking for.
What’s popped out of this is a new Ø550 (the Vegebag is Ø600. There are ways around making this difference not a problem, more on that in another post) pot trolley that can hold up to 500kgs which has 5×3″ polyurethane wheels to handle the extra weight (You could also get away with 5×2″ wheels too but the maximum load would be only 200kgs), they will be a more expensive as they are a sand casting rather than a more mass produced gravity casting. As well the weight of the trolley will be greater at ~4kg (plus wheels) but if you are looking to handle large heavy pots inside restaurants, malls, homes etc. this is the thing for you.
I only have the pattern picture now however this pattern version is after the first trial and I will be getting parts in sometime October. Please contact me at sales@alcast.com.au if you would like to know more.
